Your Role
As an EHS Specialist, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring environmental, health, and safety standards across our operations in Blagoevgrad. You will work closely with local and global teams to ensure legal compliance and promote a proactive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure compliance with Bulgarian and EU EHS regulations and Ottobock global standards
• Develop and implement EHS policies, procedures, and training programs
• Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments.
• Monitor compliance with national regulations and company standards.
• Support the investigation and reporting of workplace incidents and propose corrective actions.
• Conduct risk assessments, inspections, and incident investigations
• Collaborate with facility management to implement safety improvements
• Prepare reports and documentation for internal and external audits
• Organize and assist in EHS-related training sessions for employees.
• Cooperate with relevant institutions, service providers, and internal departments on EHS matters.
• Act as a contact person for regulatory bodies and ensure timely reporting
• Promote environmental sustainability initiatives and waste management practices
Your Profile
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in an EHS role, ideally in a production or manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of Bulgarian EHS legislation and EU regulations
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of EHS management systems is a plus
• Fluent in English
