The American University in Bulgaria (AUBG) is seeking to hire a Financial Controller to oversee the university's financial operations, ensure accuracy and compliance with financial regulations, and provide strategic financial guidance to support the institution's goals.Key Responsibilities:• Support the VP of Finance to develop and track interactive reports with key business indicators (OKRs). • Create new reports and presentations utilizing technology, visualization tools, and productivity tools in order to better summarize relevant data into actionable information • Actively participating in the processes of budgeting and forecasting, by developing and maintaining financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and long-term financial planning. • Monitor and manage the University’s cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs. • Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis of projects as needed to support business decision-making. • Financial control for major CAPEX projects • Assist in the preparation of Leadership and Board decks
• Initiative-driven value-add tasks such as continuous improvement of processes • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data, ensuring accurate financial reporting.Requirements and Desired Qualifications: • Academic degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, is required; • 2-4 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, audit, or a related field, is required; • English language proficiency, is required; • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and passion for data processing and analysis; • Self-driven and result oriented; • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues; • Advanced MS Excel (V-Lookups, Pivot tables, macro recording, etc.) and PowerPoint skillset and knowledge; • Experience with query design in SQL would be an advantage; • Power BI or similar tools are considered a strong advantage.The Offer: At the American University in Bulgaria, we are dedicated to providing our employees with a stimulating and supportive work environment.
