The Role:

UX Designers  are responsible for influencing teams to follow user-centric approach in product development and defining the experience a user will go through when interacting with Genius Sports products to make them useful, usable, and desirable. They are thoughtful advocates of product end-users and possess a deep understanding of user-focused product discovery, ideation, design, and validation. Successful candidates for this role may come from design, product, or research backgrounds. 


Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead projects through the major phases of a user-centered product development process
• Partner with product managers, delivery teams, subject matter experts and other major stakeholders to define requirements and develop roadmaps
• Organize user research to identify research question(s) and hypotheses
• Develop assets to establish and communicate design ideas such as journey maps, site maps, interaction flows, low-fidelity wireframes, information architecture, etc.
• Plan and conduct user testing of design ideas and prototypes, iterate based on feedback
• Identify and troubleshoot UX problems in existing products (e.g. responsiveness)
• Design graphic user interface elements and components
• Participate in team development activities such as peer review, critique, ideation, and UX evangelism
• Integrate user-centered thinking and methodologies such as design sprints, user identification, and personas into unfamiliar product teams
• Adhere and contribute to the design system standards and UI guidelines

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

• At least 3 years of experience in UX design role, designing and shipping web products
• Portfolio showcasing a firm grasp on user-centered design processes, the use of research to drive design, and experience with relevant techniques and methodologies
• Fluency in design and collaboration tools, especially Figma
• Good knowledge of Material UI
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills, including excellent written and spoken English
• Practical knowledge of working with qualitative and quantitative insights
• Sense of ownership and responsibility

 

Preferred Experience

• Experience in leading the work of others and mentoring junior team members
• Experience in complex data management and visualization systems
