About the Job:
Taulia is looking for an experienced Business Intelligence Engineer (BI Engineer) who has a passion for building data visualization products and systems. In this role, having the skill and experience to take large datasets and build the tools, processes, and systems to translate that data into actionable business decisions is critical.

As a BI Engineer, you will help ensure that we’re building a scalable system for the future of Taulia and our customers. You will anticipate problems, looking beyond immediate issues and being proactive to improve both our software and our development infrastructure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Translate business needs to technical specifications for visualization products.
  • Create visualizations and reports for requested projects.
  • Connect to data sources, import data, and transform data for Business Intelligence.
  • Understand the context for the data well enough to clean and transform it into a form useful for subsequent analysis.
  • Document development work and provide status on progress.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving ability.
  • Train internal users and develop external documentation on Looker reports to promote self-sufficiency.
Core Skills and Key Competencies:
  • 2+ years of work experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Data Engineering, Decision Support or related roles.
  • Strong SQL skills, with the ability to write complex SQL.
  • Strong data modeling skills.
  • 1+ year experience with designing and developing Looker Dashboards (or alternatives - e.g. Tableau).
Nice to Have:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform or another Cloud solution.
  • Experience and strong interest in database performance tuning.
