Reporting to Sr. Director Operations, the Software Engineer is a primary team member who works to innovate, conceive, design and develops modern, comprehensive software solutions using DevOps methods and technologies. You will collaborate with product management, architects and engineers to drive successful outcomes with focus on people, quality and best practices.
 

A Day in the Life of the Software Engineer II (DevOps) – About the role:
  • Work with the infrastructure and development teams to define and manage monitoring services for applications, services and common components;
  • Provide operational support for monitoring services and components;
  • Work as part of a team towards common goals organized into sprints;
  • Establish deployment monitoring best practices and share those learnings broadly throughout the company to improve operational efficiency;
  • Research new techniques and technologies.
 
Required Qualifications - About you:
We are looking for candidates who possess the combination of the following achievements, skills, and behaviors: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline;
  • Experience in Monitoring, log management, Linux, Networking and delivering SaaS services;
  • Understanding of DevOps concepts and frameworks;
  • Experience with shell scripting, automation frameworks, Ruby/Python/Perl, containerization technologies;
  • Must be a self-starter, have an entrepreneurial spirit, and enjoy working in a team with other passionate engineers;
  • Willingness to learn new technologies in-depth;
  • Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
 
It will be considered an advantage if you have further knowledge in:
  • Experience using REST API’s;
  • Prometheus monitoring suite;
  • PagerDuty;
  • Experience with GIT and Jira tools;
  • Experience with log analytic technologies (Log Analytics, Logstash or Graylog);
  • Experience with Open-Source Software;
  • Working knowledge of Object Oriented Programming (e.g., Java, C#, C++);
  • Working knowledge of databases (Relational and NoSQL);
  • Working knowledge of JAVA/JMX, Go-Lang;
  • Working with large scale enterprise applications;
  • Working with Agile software development methodology.
