ADMS - an advanced distribution management system is the software platform that supports the full suite of utilities distribution network management and optimization. An ADMS includes functions that automate outage restoration and optimize the performance of the distribution grid. It is mostly used in the electric distribution industry as will in gas distribution

GIS - a geographic information system is a system that creates, manages, analyzes, and maps all types of data. Utilities companies are using GIS to store all their network assets, making connectivity relationships and generating the digital twin.

PONTECH is hiring GIS Applications Developer to work on international EU projects, implementing ADMS software, being a part of the project delivery, having an important role in reaching successful project execution and final customer satisfaction.

Your role as a GIS Applications Developer:

As a GIS Application Developer you will provide geospatial technology support for problems of moderate scope and complexity and be responsible for developing, configuring, testing, implementing, and maintaining geospatial systems in close collaboration with the client. At this level, you may perform multiple concurrent assignments and may lead a small project of limited scope.

The job will require knowledge of the Esri technology stack including but not limited to:

• ArcGIS Pro/Desktop, ArcGIS Enterprise and other GIS based solutions.
• Understand project requirements and client needs and design GIS applications in accordance.
• Develop and/or customize GIS mapping applications and geoprocessing tools.
• Participate in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process in collaboration with other team members and provide GIS customization support on projects.
• Participate in requirements gathering and analysis, functional specification, software design, testing, and deployment.
• Assist with business development activities by participating in the creation of work plans, pricing estimates, and risk assessments for projects.
• Recommend enhancements or changes to technology, methodology, and process standards.

The ideal candidate for this position should have the following key skills/experience:

• University education in Geography/GIS, Computer Science, Information Technology, Technical Science or similar.
• Experience with C# (ArcObjects), Python (ArcPy), ArcGIS Pro / Desktop, Oracle databases, SQL, and Geodatabase design
• Knowledge of standard methodologies, concepts, best practices, and procedures within a software development environment or complimentary GIS background
• Industry specific domain knowledge including the following subject matter domains:
  • Electric Transmission, Electric Distribution, Gas Distribution, Gas/Oil Pipeline Transmission.
  • Knowledge of ArcFM Solution will be a plus.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Good in written and spoken English. Knowledge of other languages is desirable.
• Passion for learning and continuous improvements.
